Bridal Show in Phoenix, AZ

Since June is usually the unofficial end of the wedding season in the Phoenix metropolis, this is when summer begins in this area of the country, outdoor celebrations start to wane. Maybe that’s why there are three, that’s right, three bridal shows during the month of June .Maybe the wedding experts know that this is a good time to begin planning a beautiful, and cool, fall or winter wedding. You engaged ladies can look at these shows as a chance to get all your matrimonial eggs in one basket. If you bring a friend or two, or all your bridesmaids, you can count on having plenty of fun!  Here’s a tip from the wedding planners’ handbook.  Wear a one-piece bathing suit under your regular clothes to make trying on marked down wedding dresses much easier, and less revealing, if you know what we mean. (Here’s the secret, most all Wedding Businesses will honor their bridal show special even if you didn’t attend the show -shhhhhh! Just ask)

There will be nearly 4,000 square feet of showroom dedicated to wedding gowns.  Gowns will be selling for up to 50% , and brides can try on, purchase and take home right there on the spot.  And, get this…the first 400 brides who walk through the doors will receive free hors d’oeuvres and a rose.  And, as if that were not enough, there will be 150 vendors, fashion shows at 11:30 and 1:30, and an open bar which will be sure to keep all the 500 brides, bridesmaids, and 2,000 guests at the show entertained and happy.

Here are a few stats to keep for reference:

Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel, 340 N. Third St.

Tuxedo Styles for Wedding

Tuxedo Styles

tuxedo bride and groomHere’s the thing about tuxedos.  In this day and time, as we have told you before, the old rules do not necessarily apply.  You can accentuate your personal style in many ways.  Now, by that we do not mean being sloppy, figuratively or literally.  If you’re going to make it your own, do it with some style, some coolness factor, and some elegance.

So, you’ve gotten an invitation for a wedding in June.  This will probably not be the last invitation you get either.  You might be going as a guest; you might be a groomsman; or, hey, you may be the groom, but we’re probably not talking to you right now, because the bride has already told you what you will be wearing, and that really goes for the groomsmen, as well.

This is going to be the time when you can pull out all the stops and have fun while looking sharp as heck.  What you are going for is the most stylish, celebratory, and handsome version of yourself you can accomplish.  The least casual you can go is a suit (dressy or casual, depending on the venue), and otherwise a tuxedo.  All the clothes we are going to suggest will work, but be sure to look carefully at the “attire specifications” on the invitation.

One look that we think is really happening is the shawl collar tuxedo.  But, here’s the thing, you could style it like a suit.  We know, sounds radical, but if it fits perfectly, and you choose the right accessories, it could be right on.  Try a colorful bow tie, suede shoes, and for that Big Apple look, suede shoes with no socks.  We know, your mom just fainted.

One of the easiest ways to make your tux come alive is to leave the white shirt on the hanger and go for a brightly colored shirt.  Think powder blue, pink, gray, or tan.  And, yes, you can always know that polished, black lace-ups are a perfect match for a tuxedo.  But, who said everything had to be a perfect match?  The big city boys are wearing suede slipper loafers in different colors, and the look is hot.  Then you can pair them with your fancy jeans after the occasion.

Hold onto your hats, because this next suggestion is going to knock your socks off, if you are wearing any.   Charcoal gray and dark blue are good suit colors, but just the right plaid suit could also make a very good statement.  It’s young; it’s daring; it’s fun.  Pair it with a different patterned tie and pocket handkerchief!

More and more men are wearing khaki suits to weddings, and that’s a good choice.  You can be dressed up and cool as a cucumber, all at the same time.  Boat shoes, a pocket square and a patterned bow tie will pull it all together.

Guess what?  You do not have to go to one of those stuffy, corny big box stores, like Men’s Warehouse.  Rose Tuxedo in Phoenix can take care of all of this for you.  Their prices will always be below the big box’s price.  Call or come in, they are waiting to help you, and they know all about these cool new looks.

Summer Tuxedo: 4 Options by Rose Tuxedo

Tags :

Summer Tuxedo

You young ones probably don’t remember this tune, but Frank Sinatra (you probably don’t know him either) 🙂 sang it in 1955.  Look it up, it’s pretty corny. But we digress.  What we are really here to do is assist you in learning all you need to know about gettsummer tuxedoing ready for the upcoming nuptials (yours, or someone else’s). Here’s something else you might want to look up. Where did the word nuptials come from?  It’s from the Latin for marry. But, again, we digress.  Here’s what you need to know about nuptial ceremonial dress.

The picture to the left is a picture of the bride and her groom, who happens to be wearing a Rose Tuxedo summer tuxedo.  You might be wondering what it is that is different about a summer tuxedo? Obviously, Arizona summers tend to be, well, hot. Temperatures dictate which weight or appropriately colored tuxedo is a good choice, since both help alleviate a bit of the intensity of the high temperatures.  Here are four options, which Rose Tuxedo can supply, that are going to look good on you and feel good in warm temperatures.

image_18_large1.  If the wedding is going to take place in a church, temple, or cathedral, that means you are probably going to need the traditional get-up.  That would mean suit or tuxedo in black or midnight blue; a white dress shirt; a black bow tie; a cummerbund, and black dress shoes.  Interestingly, it is not so much the weight of the fabric in a tux that makes it cooler, it is the weave. Loosely woven fabric is cooler because it allows for air circulation. Summer tuxedos, in order to be cooler, need to be about an 8 oz. twill, or an 8 oz. tropical material.

Tux812.  Let’s say you are going to a cutting edge wedding at a lovely wedding hall.  The invitation might say “black tie optional”.  That usually means that the groom will be wearing black tie, but he expects you to at least wear a tux. A single-breasted  basic tux with a tie will just the ticket for a night like this.  This one is going to make you look a little Daniel Craig-ish, which the gals will love.

image_15_large3. If you’re going to an outside wedding, or a poolside wedding, or even (lucky you) a destination wedding, the invitation might say “semi-formal”.  This means you can wear a handsome suit, and in Arizona or Belize, it can be tan in color.  Add a silk tie, a pocket handkerchief, and boat shoes or sandals, and watch the girls stare.

Tux914. For a breezy summer night, a dark suit is a great way to go.  You can pair it with a solid tie, casual cufflinks, a white linen shirt, and brown or black Oxfords.  Nothing looks better than a well-fitted suit, and not much can make you feel as handsome as you will in this combination.

Understand that we have given you suggestions.  In these days of casual and individual dress codes, you can often make your attire fit your personality.  Just be sure that you like the way you look, because you are going to look good after you go to Rose Tuxedo Arizona.

Why Choose Rose Tuxedo?

Rose Tuxedo

Rose TuxedoWhat are some of the things that make Rose Tuxedo of Arizona different from other places that rent tuxedos, suits and accessories?  There are many things that make Rose Tuxedo your tuxedo rental experts:

1.  Rose Tuxedo is family-owned and operated.  Do you know why patronizing a local store is better than going to a big national chain?  For one thing, it keeps your money in the community rather than sending it off to a corporate headquarters, that might even be in a different country.  Local businesses keep the community connected, and and a community business knows what their community needs.

2.  Rose Tuxedo has their inventory of tuxes, suits, and accessories in their own warehouses.  There is no shipping costs or waiting for a shipment to arrive.  This is important when you need your formal wear quickly or when you have an emergency  “costume malfunction”.

3.  You can actually order your tuxedo online.  Or, if you have questions or need help with your formalwear in any way, go to:  service@rosetuxedoaz.com

4.  One of Rose Tuxedo’s favorite sayings is, “When it has to be perfect…”.  Well, that’s exactly what they mean. Now, everyone knows there is no such thing as perfection, but if any business can come close to the bullseye, it’s Rose Tuxedo.  They are willing to go the extra mile to be sure that you get what you want, when you want it, and for the price that you can afford.

5.  That’s why another saying that is popular at Rose Tuxedo is, “You’re going to love the way you save”.  Some of the big box stores say,”You’re going to love the way you look”.  Well, that goes without saying, right?  At Rose, you are going to have both.  You will look sharp and fashionable, and you are going to save money.

6.  Rose Tuxedo is rated on Wedding Wire and was voted locally  Best Place to Rent a Prom or Wedding Tuxedo, three years in a row from the Readers’ Choice Awards.  Rose Tux was also voted Arizona Bride’s “Best of 2013 – Favorite Local Vendor for Grooms Tux, Prom Tux, and Wedding Tux.  Not too shabby, right?

7.  Rose Tuxedo can guarantee you that when you rent from them you are going to save, in the neighborhood of $50, when compared to some of the big national chain stores.

8.  If you are looking for a size that you are worried you won’t be able to find, call Rose Tuxedo, Arizona.  They have sizes that range from a boy’s size 3 to a man’s size 74 reg.  You can see that they will certainly be able to fit you and your friends and family.

9.  One more thing that is good about doing your rentals from a local business, especially one like Rose Tuxedo, which has been in these parts for about 30 years, is that the staff and family at Rose know what Arizona prom wear should be; what wedding attire is most often used, and what wedding wear is worn in each season for customers who live in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area.  In other words, they know their customers.

10.  And, the last reason to use Rose Tuxedo is that they have three convenient locations which are easy to access for all the folks who live in and around Phoenix.  Since they have made it so easy for you, why not give them a call or visit this weekend and tell them what you are going to need for that upcoming wedding, party, or graduation?  They will have you fixed up in no time.

Wedding Tuxedo Someone Needs One

Tags :

wedding tuxedoWe are heading full steam toward wedding season.  Ever wonder why June is the month when most weddings take place?  On reason might be that in Roman times, the Roman goddess, Juno, was the goddess of marriage and the marriage household.  Some thought it was good luck to be married in June, the month named after Juno.  In history, if a bride married in June, the likelihood was that a baby would be born in spring.  That would mean that the bride would have the warm summer to recover, and the baby could spend his first months in the warmth and sunshine of the summer days.

In the United States, June is probably a favorite month to have a wedding because the weather is usually fair and outdoor receptions or wedding parties can be planned for outside.  Another reason might be that schools and colleges adjourn for the summer, giving the bride and groom a chance to have all their friends available to come to the wedding, and allowing for a nice, long honeymoon before having to return to college or work.

Because other times of the year are encroaching on the June choice for weddings, you can be sure that there are going to be weddings occurring all through the warm summer months.  And, you know what that means – you’re going to need a tuxedo.  Rose Tuxedo, Arizona is poised to help you get the right type, the right size, the right fit, and the right style of tuxedo the bride and groom have in mind. Wedding Tuxedo when someone needs one Rose Tuxedo will have all the sizes in stock from 3boys to 74reg

Happily, formal wear for 2014 is much more flexible than it was, say 30 years ago.  The bride and groom can choose what they want for their wedding from the many styles, weights, and colors that Rose Tuxedo has to offer.  Some choices include:

  • Jackets

Tuxedo Jacket

Full Dress (tails or tail coat)

Cut-away (morning coat)

Stroller Coat (usually worn in the day-time)

  • Lapels

Notched Lapel

Shawl Collar

Peaked Lapel

  • Trousers

If wearing a tuxedo, your trousers should match the color and style of the jacket.

With a stroller jacket or cut-away jacket you wear gray or pinstriped gray trousers.

  • Shirt Collar

The wing collar is most often worn with a tuxedo.

Crosswycke is a collar that crosses in the front and is fastened with a  button.

The Mandarin collar  is a contemporary style collar and requires no tie.

The spread collar is much like the standard button-down collar, but the tips  of the collar are widely separated.

  • Cuffs

Standard dress-shirt cuffs are held together with cufflinks.

French cuffs which are folded over are then held together with cufflinks.

There are shirts with cuffs that close with a button.

  • Neckwear

A Bowtie is usually always worn with a tuxedo.

A Necktie may be worn with a tuxedo.

The Ascot tie constitutes very formal daytime wear (cut-away coat, striped gray trousers).

A Bolo tie may be worn only with Western wear.

A Euro tie falls somewhere between an ascot and a necktie; not as formal as an ascot,it is designed to be worn with wing or spread collared shirts.

  • Accessories

Vests, also called waistcoats, are optional.

Cummerbunds, worn when not wearing a vest are usually black, but can be matched to the bride’s color scheme.

Cuff links offer a way to show-off your own personality.

Confused?  Don’t worry, Rose Tuxedo has this all under control.
