Get Ready for Winter Formal

Tags :

IMG_20150420_182122Winter Formal is the next big dance between now and Prom, so now is a good time to start planning! You could consider this a practice for Prom! Winter Ball, Winter Formal, Snow Ball, or whatever your school is calling it is a great way to show off your date to your friends or go as a group and have a great time!

Today we’ll talk a little about how to start planning for Winter Formal!

  1. Choosing a Date: Ladies and Gentlemen, now may be the perfect time to start looking for a date to this dance! You’ll have Winter break to get to talking and get to know your date, which gives you time to change your plans before the dance. Some schools replace this formal school dance with Sadie Hawkins, so all of you fellas may want to be on alert, look your best and impress the ladies to get that invitation! For all of our single guys and gals, talk to your friends for a backup plan if your date falls through, but don’t be afraid to ask a girl who catches your eye! For our taken groups out there, you’d better start thinking now or you may end up going stag after all!
  2. Dress Code: Some schools opt for a dress code similar to that of prom. Often times, a suit is preferred, but slacks and a nice shirt may suffice. You may want to go full out and wear a tuxedo —especially if you plan on buying one for Prom. It’s better to be over-dressed than under dressed, so let Rose Tuxedo hook you up with the most stylish suit and tuxedo rentals around! Don’t forget that a 3 piece suit can look dashing on nearly any man, so woo her with fashion!
  3. Rose Tuxedo over 1000 ties in-stock

Colors: Talk with your date (or party) and decide on colors. While matching like Prom is not always expected, choosing colors that go well together or opting for beautiful winter-themed colors can be fun.

  4. Have fun: Whatever you do for Winter Formal, enjoy yourself. These are going to be some of the best memories of your lives. Don’t get too caught up in planning and forget to dance with your friends and get some pictures taken. This isn’t prom, but it’s pretty close—so don’t take it too seriously, but there’s nothing wrong with going all out!

At Rose Tuxedo, we love to help out all of our clients, and we’ll help you pick out the suit or tuxedo style that best fits your budget, style, and body shape. Check out our website to look at our different styles as well as help with ordering a suit or tuxedo online!

What You’re Saying With Your Winter Formal Outfit

Tags :

Guys, Winter Formal may be coming up at your High School (or College, whatever) so be prepared to look your best and impress all of the ladies—or be prepared to look like a fool if you don’t rent your suit or tux from Rose Tuxedo to look the best you can for this big dance.

  1. Full Tuxedo: Assuming it actually fits (like it will when renting from us), you’ll look like a super spy, celebrity, or just darn good. However, if you’re the only one at the dance in a tuxedo, you may look out of place—but at least you’ll look great. Avoid doing this if you’re going stag or with a group.
  2. Three Piece Suit: This shows that you understand fashion and you spent a little extra money for that third piece. It allows you to remove the coat while still looking extra-awesome. Some may view it as “trying too hard,” but your date won’t think so.
  3. Two-Piece Suit: Simple. Basic. Classic. You can’t go wrong here. Match your tie or shirt to your date’s dress and you’re a power couple.
  4. Suit that is too small: This looks like you bought a suit Freshman year and you’ve had a growth spurt. Don’t wear this. If you can’t move or breathe, or the world can see your elbows and calves, it’s time to donate it to a little brother or cousin.
  5. Suit that is too big: Hand-me-downs are a great way to save money, but not at the expense of looking like a little boy playing in his dad’s closet. Get it altered or save it for when you grow into it.
  6. Slacks and a dress shirt: This is great for a casual look (as long as all pieces fit, preferably with a tie added and nice dress shoes) but it also doesn’t look like you tried. If you want to impress the ladies, you better have some great dance moves if you show up like this.
  7. Slacks and a suit vest: This is a great alternative to the three piece (or even traditional 2-piece) suit. You may come off as a bit of a hipster, but you may also come off as suave and interesting. You’ll stand out, but you may get a little chilly—keep that suit jacket handy.
  8. Jeans and a dress shirt: You really look like you’re not trying. Or, like you’re trying too hard to not be trying hard—if that makes sense. This isn’t a middle school dance, class it up a bit, bro.
  9. Anything that doesn’t involve a dress shirt or slacks: Just don’t. You’ll look like you don’t care and it’ll be more impressive if you skip the dance altogether and go for a “I’m so over school dances,” attitude.

When you’ve got your date picked and she has her dress colors ready, coordinate and rent your suit, tux, or other options with Rose Tuxedo. Our prices can fit any budget and we’ll make you look (and feel) like a million bucks for the Winter Formal. Start planning now, guys! The ladies will appreciate an early invitation.
