If you are short on time, and have plenty of money, hiring a wedding planner can be a very good thing. However, not everyone has a wedding budget large enough to do so. This was the case when my daughter got married.
Planning a wedding yourself is not only less expensive but can be extremely enjoyable. We did everything ourselves, from hiring the caterer to making the decorations, selecting the wedding dress and renting the tuxedos . With a little planning, research and organization, all of it can be done without much stress and to fit within your budget.
Making the invitations and decorations was fun, inexpensive, and created great memories to cherish for years after the event. Researching various vendors for things such as the wedding dress, food, flowers and tuxedo rentals was easy and enjoyable. We got great deals on everything just by asking. If the cost of something, for example renting the tuxedos , is more than you plan to spend, tell your representative. Most places will work with you rather than lose your business.
Ultimately, it is your decision on whether or not to hire a wedding planner. Either way, carefully plan, research and organize everything that needs to be done in order to keep your stress level low, and you will have a wonderful, memorable day.
